St. Patrick's Day 2012 @ Changkat, KL: The biggest, greenest celebration in Asia!

Thousands of revelers turned Changkat Bukit Bintang into a sea of St Paddy’s Hats on Saturday evening to celebrate Malaysia’s and Asia’s largest GUINNESS® St. Patrick’s Celebration this year. Walking into Changkat Street at 7pm, I must say it was already overwhelming even though the party hasn't started yet! Slowly as the sky turn grey… the excitement built up and everyone had their green attire/accessories on along with their party spirit!

A must have for St. Patrick's Day celebration!

We headed to a bar called 'Loca' to chill while waiting for the parade! Loca is a lovely Mexican themed bar that served tasty Mexican finger foods like chips and guacamole dip, pastas, tacos and etc.

I was contemplating on my attire for the night because well, green is a MUST have on you for St. Patrick's Day and when looked into my closet, nothing pure green. So, I just resulted in a colorful top and added some greens to my eyes. *Don't think you can see it from the pictures though, sigh… small lids* :(

The sixth installation of the GUINNESS® St. Patrick’s festival in Malaysia saw over 10,000 visitors, tourists and party goers alike celebrate the global festivity together with thousands of people around the world on the official St. Patrick’s Day (17 March).

The uproarious Irish celebration saw a crowd of hat-totting revelers celebrating in the true spirit of St. Patrick’s with hilarious stand-up comedians, live music performances, Irish dancers, street artists, funny green friends, and a carnival of fun games and activities. Also making their return were the GUINNESS® bikers who roared in at the head of the St. Patrick’s parade whipping the celebratory mood into frenzy. They were followed closely by colorful performers and numerous GUINNESS® St Patrick entertainers who wowed the crowds with their fancy movements and rhythmic beats.

One of the most memorable event of the night was when I got to enjoy my GUINNESS experience over at the Author's Lounge.

We were taught the correct method to pouring a perfect pint of GUINNESS, and was treated to a fresh pint while walking around the lounge admiring the GUINNESS collectible items such as caps, bottles, mugs etc.

Also, every guest at the Author's Lounge are gifted with a personalized GUINNESS pint with their name at the back!! What a lovely souvenir to take from after the hyped night. 

While waiting for our pints to be done, we just fooled around the lounge as we took pictures wherever we could. :P

The laughter parade

The parade marked the beginning of a night that would resound with the sounds of laughter. Immediately after the parade ended, the emcees took over, getting the crowd to call for “ol, ceol, craic”, which means “a great pint, good music and wonderful fun”. With plenty of GUINNESS® pints, Irish music, dances and roaming buskers and performances, these three things were not in short supply at the party.

Living up to everyone’s expectation, the night of fun and laughter also featured a truly spectacular fireworks display.
