Glenmorangie Orange Retro Funk Night!

Just before March ended, I had an 'Unnecessarily Well Made' Friday night at KL's newest nightspot, The Pool along Jalan Ampang where the classy venue took a stroll over to the funky side as it was brightened up with an interesting shade of tangerine, inspired by the "orange" in Glenmorangie's name.

The venue chosen was pretty awesome because it was kind of an outdoor open-air venue, which is so much nicer to be at compared to the stuffy, dark clubs I would usually visit. The Pool is a great place to chill while you have a couple of drinks with friends, but maybe not clubbing.

Nonetheless, Glenmorangie brought the house onto a whole new look covering any available corner with a spark of orange! Definitely a smart choice of color because it automatically set my mood to cheerful and funky ;)

(If you look closely, she is only having a pair of shorts and a top garment on, the rest is all paint!)

Around The Pool, there were funky girls painted in body art consisting of the theme colors for us to snap a picture with or just to admire! We were told that the ladies had to sit through 6 hours of makeup to achieve this look, talk about dedication!

Choi Yen catching a snap!

Keeping us on our feet were the groovy mix of Daikanyama's resident DJ and the backbeat of Deer Society, Alex Asquared. With a steady flow of house and Indie dance laced with a dash of 80's synth from the decks, the night was filled with a tasteful mix of the refined, hedonistic enjoinment of single malt whisky balanced with a healthy serving of witty retro funk. If only there were snacks served, it would have help fill the stomach a little bit. :P

Of course, we were treated to a free flow of Glenmorangie The Original Scotch Wisky all night long as well :)

Glenmorangie The Original is a Ten Years Old whisky mainly matured in ex-Bourbon casks that’s made from slow growth, air dried American Oak from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. The selection of casks were important to bring the lemony gold colour as well as the aroma of mandarin, lemon, apple, pear and peach fruits with hints of Vanilla.

Personally, I am not much of a whisky person but I can tell that Glenmorangie The Original is definitely so much smoother and easier to consume/enjoyed than other brands that I've tried.

Beautiful companions at my table;
who each won a bottle of Glenmorangie The Original:)

I had to leave the event pretty early before the games begun for a friend's birthday so, I didn't have a go in winning a bottle myself. Nonetheless, I have friends telling me how spicy things turned out towards the end of the night… people falling into the pool including emcee Will Quah (Gosh, I hope he is okay), racing for small orange golf balls and etc.

*Aiseh… should have stayed to witness these events myself*

Will definitely stay longer at the next Glenmorangie party, the Glenmorangie SOUNDFORM Fluid bar!

Glenmorangie's SOUNDFORM Fluid bar will be showcased in the North Atrium of The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City. Whether you are a single malt aficionado, a fan of contemporary design, or just plain curious, be sure to head to The Gardens to catch the SOUNDFORM Fluid, which is a striking yet sculpturally functional illustration of Glenmorangie's 'Unnecessarily Well Made' concept.

Cheers to you!
